The Outlander Tour

Scotland - 11 days

Explore the sights and sets of your favorite show.

Calling all Outlander fans! Those who know the show know it’s a beautiful combination of fictional storytelling and historical fact. Embark on the Outlander Tour to explore the story’s locations and watch the facts come to life. But trust us, you don’t need to be a big fan of the show to fall in love with Scotland and its beautiful highlands.

Days 1 – 4

Edinburgh

Consider Edinburgh your homebase for this adventure. You’ll spend the first few days exploring what we call “the essentials”. Those include Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, and Holyrood Palace. You'll then go on to visit Culross, Stirling, Falkirk, Linlithgow, and beyond. And of course, some important stops will be made at the Stirling Castle, Callendar House, Hopetoun House, and Drummond Estate.

Activities:

  • Visit to Edinburgh Castle
  • Royal Mile walk
  • Visit to Holyrood Palace
  • Explore surrounding towns

Days 5 – 6

Inverness

Next, you’re heading north to Inverness, known as the largest city and the cultural capital of the Scottish Highlands. While here, you’ll visit ancient burial sites, walk through historic castles, and explore surrounding towns. You’ll also have free time for relaxing, shopping, or re-watching a few episodes of Outlander.

  • Lunch at Loch Ness Clansman Hotel
  • Visit to Beauly Priory
  • Walk through Castle Leod
  • Visit to Clootie Well

Day 7

Isle of Lewis

Day 7 will be spent on the beautiful, peaceful Isle of Lewis. A good part of the day will be spent sailing to the island via Ferry, and lunch will be enjoyed there too. Once on shore, there will be a visit to the Standing Stones, Dun Carloway Broch, and if time allows, the Gearrannan Black House Village. Then you’ll be headed south to the picturesque island of Skye.

Days 8-10

Skye

There’s perhaps no better place to spend the final days of the Outlander Tour than on the dreamy island of Skye. This portion of the trip will include a visit to Fairy Glen, Quiraing, Kilted Rock, the Leat Waterfall, and more. It will be just as magical as it is memorable. And then on day 11, you’ll be headed back to Edinburgh for your flight home.
